ICC publish “Implementing the URDTT”

25/03/2022 Following the successful implementation of the Uniform Rules for Digital Trade Transactions (URDTT) on 1 October 2021, the ICC has today released an accompanying publication to help users understand more fully the rules and provide some guidance on implementing the URDTT for existing or new products.

Gary Collyer was one of the four contributors to the publication.

The bill of lading shows a shipment date of 31 March 2026. The insurance certificate is presented with an issuance date of 31 March 2026 and additionally indicates a policy period from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026. In this context, would the insurance document be considered compliant with UCP 600 and ISBP? Furthermore, in the case where both the shipment date and the insurance certificate issuance date are 1 April 2026, would such an insurance document still be considered compliant with UCP 600 and ISBP? Additionally, we would appreciate it if you could advise whether there are any ICC Opinions or case references that may be applicable to the above situations.
