2012 ICC Trade Register Report

22/04/2013 A link to the 2012 ICC Trade Register Report has been added to the "Basel III and the ICC Trade Registry Project" under the 'Trade Information' tab. The first in a new quarterly series of newsletters has been added under the same tab (under 'Newsletters'). This first newsletter provides some highlights from the recent ICC Banking Commission meeting and an overview of the conclusions reached for the draft Opinions that were discussed.

The L/C requires the bill of lading to be made out to the order of the issuing bank. However, the presented bill of lading shows the consignee as: "To the order of [SWIFT code of the issuing bank]" instead of stating the full name of the issuing bank. In this case, would it be appropriate for the issuing bank to raise a discrepancy on the basis that the bill of lading shows consignee incomplete (i.e., not indicating the issuing bank’s name)?
