1. UCP 600 asub-rticle 23 (a) (v) states: be the original for consignor or shipper, even if the credit stipulates a full set of originals. ISBP 821 paragraph H12 states: An air transport document is to appear to be the original for consignor or shipper. When a credit requires a full set of originals, this is satisfied by the presentation of an air transport document indicating that it is the original for consignor or shipper. When the credit calls for “full set plus 1 original for consignee of air transport document ……”, in my opinion, 1 original for consignor plus 1 original for consignee of air transport document must be presented. 2. UCP 600 sub-article 24 (b) (i) states: A road transport document must appear to be the original for consignor or shipper or bear no marking indicating for whom the document has been prepared. ISBP 821 paragraph J (7) (c) states: Presentation of the original for consignor or shipper (copy for sender) of a road transport document or duplicate rail transport document shall suffice even when the credit requires presentation of a full set of the relevant transport documents. When the credit calls for “full set plus 1 original for consignee of road transport document ……”, in my opinion, 1 original for consignor (or no marking indicating for whom the document has been prepared) plus 1 original for consignee of road transport document must be presented. Please confirm.
